Our team in Namibia is complete. Seven educators from educational institutions in Omaheke Region participate in the German-Namibian exchange of Suni e.V. and the Light for the Children Foundation.

In preparation for the exchange in summer 2022, a first preparatory workshop took place in Gobabis, Namibia. The seven educators are already looking forward to gaining insights into the German education system.

“I am very happy that we have such an enthusiastic team,” explains Gijsbertha van Rooyen, coordinator of the exchange in Namibia. And Barbara Scharfbillig, who manages the program from Germany for Suni e.V., was also enthusiastic: “It was very exciting to chat online with the Namibian participants and introduce them to the German part of the program. I’m really looking forward to meeting them in person.” The Namibian group is led by Patricia Ndjavera, board member of Suni e.V.

A total of seven Namibian educators from Witvlei, Drimiopsis, Gobabis, Omitara and Aminuis are participating in the program. This includes six workshops, an excursion, two trainings and a study trip to Germany.

The exchange is part of the Teams Up! Program of the German-African Youth Office of Engagement Global and is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. Co-financing is provided by the Entwicklungspolitisches Landesnetzwerk Rheinland-Pfalz e.V.
